In Matthew 21:22, we read that: “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” There is nothing anyone can get from the Lord without faith in him that he is able to do what you have asked. James 1:6-8 says: “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering … let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord … A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

When you ask God for something with a wrong motive or the request is based on selfish intent, such a prayer would not be answered. James 4:3; “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.”

Un-confessed sins separate us from God. In Isaiah 59:1-2, the Bible says that: “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear: but your iniquities have separated you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you that he will not hear.” If there is an un-confessed sin in your life; except by God’s mercy, it would be difficult, if not impossible to receive anything from the Lord. This is confirmed in Proverbs 28:13 when it says: “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh shall have mercy.” An un-confessed sin will hinder your prayer.

What is an idol? An idol is anything that comes between you and God. Something in your life that you value or hold in higher esteem than God or the things of God. The book of Ezekiel 14:3 says: “… these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?” This Bible reference has further expounded the meaning of what an idol could be to include even the very thoughts of our heart. In essence, even if you take a strong position on a decision of something you ought to have asked God, and you’re adamant or insisting that nothing can change your mind, but you merely want God to approve of what you have decided; then you have set up an idol in your heart. In such instances, you won’t get God to speak to you.

When you do not answer those who cry to you for help while you are in a position to help them, then you too will cry someday and not get God to hear your cry. Proverbs 21:13 says: “Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.” That is the gospel truth! But if you consider and help the poor and the helpless; let us look at the five things that God has said will happen in the life of the helper, as mentioned in Psalm 41:1-2:

It is always good to help people. When you can conveniently or sacrificially help someone in need; then the Lord will make those five blessings to abide with you. If you are in a position to help anybody; do not hesitate and do as much as the sprit would lead you. Look around your vicinity and pick up an indigent student whose parent cannot pay his school fees and help out. Extend a hand of fellowship to someone who is hungry around you. I pray that the Lord will answer the prayers of everyone who bountifully gives to help others in Jesus name. (You may wish to contact us for details on PAWOF)

With all sense of humility, CLAM is an ardent giver. The Ministry sows much money into other Ministries in terms of tithes and offerings; CLAM also make donations to other churches and ministries that are yet to be on a sound footing. We equally buy musical instruments to many as well. In view of this, no matter what happens, CLAM can never go down. That is why the Ministry will continue to grow in leaps and bounds till the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. As a matter of fact, the Lord has promised that CLAM would be one of the few remnant churches that he will meet on earth at his second coming.

It is un-Christian to be a rise and falling believer. As a matter of fact, it is dangerous for you not to remain in Christ at all times. If you don’t maintain consistency in your Christian way of life; it would be impossible to get your prayers answered. When you don’t remain in God; and the word of God does not remain in you; your prayers would not be answered. John 15:7 says: “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

Unforgiveness is one of the great sins in life that can hinder prayers from being answered. No amount of prayer and fasting can make your voice to be heard in heaven if there is unforgiveness in your heart against anybody. Other vices like anger, malice, wrath, bitterness, envy, and so on, will hinder your prayers. In Ephesians 4:31-32, the Bible says: “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice. And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

The Bible says in Matthew 6:14-15 that: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Forgive whoever has offended you and see how God will mightily bless you. He will bless the work of your hand and make you to prosper.

PRAYERS

SCRIPTURES 2 Cor. 4:8-9; 2 Timothy 4:18; John 10:28; Ps. 17:6; Ps. 143:1; Ps. 54:2; James 1:6-8; Mark 1:27; Isaiah 32:8; Ps. 124:7; Jer. 32:17; Ps. 41:1-2; Prov. 21:13; Ps.
